To give you some background on the history of the Association, the Covenants of Leawood West were originally filed in January of 1965 and ran for a period of 30 years. They expired in January of 1995. By a majority of the homeowners, they were renewed and recorded on 24 April 1996 and will run another 30 years.

The Bylaws (our standard operating procedures) were originally written in 1973 and also were renewed and filed with the State of Nebraska in May 1996. The Articles of Incorporation were filed in 1975 as a nonprofit corporation.

At present, there are three hundred fifty-two (352) lots and three hundred fifty-one (351) homes in Leawood West, with well over two hundred sixty (260) paid members. The association has now been in existence for over 59 years and the neighborhood was 59 years old in January of 2024.

How do you fit in?

We would like to encourage increased participation in the Association and its activities. Your voluntary participation and pride in the neighborhood are vital to the continued growth and productivity of our area. Leawood West has maintained its beauty, friendliness, special activities, and resale ability over the years, only because of the immense pride of its homeowners.
