Key Discussion Points

  • Beautification and Garden Club are aligned in goals and will collaborate on future efforts. 
  • Garden Club will serve as a support arm to Beautification. 
  • Everyone agreed on the plans for the rest of the year. See Action Items 
  • A landscape company should do new tree planting to ensure a healthy tree. 
  • Next meeting scheduled for July 19th. 

Action Items

  • Entrance Cleanup – June 10:
    • The Garden Club will clean up around the Leawood West entrance sign off Pacific, remove weeds, and apply fresh mulch. 
  • Leawood Drive Grass Pads:
    • Plan to lay down grass pads on Leawood Drive to encourage new grass growth. 
  • Crabapple Trees:
    • Crabapple trees will be planted this fall, with tree watering bags added to support proper irrigation. 
  • Watering Schedule:
    • Garden Club members all offer to water the new plants, trees, and grass.
    • Susie will create the schedule. 
  • Pacific Frontage Road Lawn Care:
    • The lawn care company will begin fertilizing and treating for weeds along the Pacific Frontage Road. 
  • Leawood West Brick Sign Repairs:
    • Gathering quotes for necessary repairs to the brick entrance sign. 
  • Weed Control Along Pacific:
    • Mike will spray the rocks along Pacific to control weed growth. 
  • Flower Boxes:
    • New plants have already been planted for 2025.
    • This year, we will prep the flower boxes for planting next spring. 
  •  Juniper Planting (Spring '26): 
    • Plan to plant junipers behind the entrance sign in the spring.
